My Poker Course

Since there are some complete poker newbies reading my journal, and since the non-newbies might have friends who are poker newbies, I'm posting this quick entry to let everyone know that this is the last week to sign up for The poker course that I am teaching at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education. It's not too expensive, and I think it should be a lot of fun. It's a very basic course; I'm going to start from the very beginning with the order of hands. My hope is that in ten weeks, I can bring the students from complete neophytes to a level of skill that they can be marginally winning players in Foxwoods' $2/$4 Limit HE game.
The course has not had as many signups as I and the CCAE faculty coordinator had hoped, but it has four students enrolled and will run if one more signs up. So, ask your friends and neighbors to consider it.
As I develop the course materials, I'll be posting links and other information here. I'm very excited about doing this. As I've mentioned in my journal before, my main interest in poker is as a hobby, and I am always curious to find new and interesting ways to branch out that hobby, and given my background in education and technical training, I thought this would be a great way to do so.
