I was confused by the post; I assume the site was NOT pokerroom (the only site you mentioned)and you are refraining from naming the site. If so, I can take a shot at who the site is (I'm not sure why you aren't mentioning it, but I won't either). If it is that site or a similar site, then your proposal of providing a few minutes for disconnects isn't a practical solution. I am constantly disconnected from the unnamed site; sometimes I can't log back in for several minutes. This constant disconnection doesn't regularly happen for me on other sites, so I suspect it isn't my connection at home, which maintains a reliable connection to IM. If this site did not have all-in protection, they would have so many pissed-off players who would be regulary disconnected, potentially losing a pot. That would likely make a lot of angry players. I would think that, in such a case, they are better off providing an limited all-in protection policy. Of course, the best solution is to solve the crappy software problem; unfortunately their most recent "upgrade" demonstrated the quality of their work, so I admit to a healthy fear of the next one.
