A Quick Reminder Why I Don't Play Clubs Anymore

Yet another robbery of a NYC club reminds me why I don't play the local clubs anymore. The chance of being held up at gun point makes it not worth it.

Of course, since there's basically only a robbery once every six months or so, it means you're at least 1-to-182 against to get hit. Probably less, if you avoid the peak 23:00-01:00 hours. Still, I don't gamble with these sorts of things, only poker itself. Especially when there are better ways to spend one's time.

i haven't played at all since march. too much bullshit with the internet and too many busts and robberies at the clubs. the oklahoma casinos are pretty much the only places i'd be willing to play any more, but i just can't motivate myself to drive 1.5 hours each way.

Thursday Night

I was "lucky" enough to be there Thursday night. It was not so good. During my NYC poker life, on two occassions I had missed police raids by a matter of hours. Luck over. Lost over $1K from my pocket and significant winnings on the table.

It was such a good game... [20/40 OE for those interested]

At least one club raided tonight...
